Differentiating instruction is meant to help widen the capability of lessons. It is a strategy commonly used in order to facilitate different types of learning in a widely diverse classroom. The concept is "based one the premise that instructional approaches should vary and be adapted in relation to individual and diverse students in classrooms;" and as such, it "requires a teacher to be flexible in their approach to teaching and adjust the curriculum and presentation of information to learners rather than expecting students to modify themselves for the curriculum" (Hall, Strangman, & Meyer 2011).
